"The Nutcracker"


Hmm. Can you think of a more traditional Christmas movie than "The Nutcracker"?....

This evening, I sat down and decided to watch "Nutcracker: The Motion Picture". You know, the 1986 made-for-film ballet version, by the Pacific Northwest Ballet and directed by Carroll Ballard....

Yep, it was on television (as it is every Christmas since 1986), and I'll be honest, each Christmas (when I can) I enjoy watching it. Not many guys my age tend to enjoy ballet, but this one I do. And besides, how can you not appreciate the orchestral score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky? It's a classic! .... And the magnificent sets! And the costumes!....

Yep, I do love a classic! .... [grin].
