"Movie Friday: "The Bloody Olive"

Another Friday, another movie! This week my selection is titled, "The Bloody Olive".

This brilliant (and award-winning!) black and white short film by Vincent Bal (1996) isn't what you might expect. It's better. Filmed in Dutch and subtitled in English, it remains a classic "who-dunnit" with a very clever twist. A combination of the "Bogart-gentleman-ish style, with a slight atypical panic aspect that shines through in a very sutble way" (Julian Reischl, Imdb.com), this foreign film is definitely a fun watch, and well worth the twelve minutes!
