"The People History"Here's something interesting:
The People History. It's a website covering history from 1920-2006. For every year, it lists popular culture, music, film and TV, technology, world events, cost of living, inflation, price of goods and property, wages, and the value of money.
I found out that in the year I was born, the average cost of a new house was $68,700, the average cost of a new car was $7,200, and gasoline was $1.19 per gallon.
Also in 1980, Mount St. Helens erupted, Ronald Reagan was elected President, CNN became the first 24-hour television news channel, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was popular in the movie theatres, and Queen's song "Another One Bites the Dust" was all the rage.
Fascinating stuff!
