"Alan Bean, Artist"

Apollo astronaut Alan Bean was the fourth man to walk on the moon (during the Apollo 12 mission in 1969). He is also the only artist to have visited another world, so his paintings of the moon have the authenticity of a true eyewitness. In 1981, Alan retired from NASA to devote time to his art. Here are some of his paintings, and the stories that accompany each one.
