"Baseball Theme Songs"I watched the end of the Brewer's game on TV this afternoon (an 8-1 victory by the way!), and during commercial breaks, I flipped over to the Chicago station to see how the Cubs were doing. They won as well, however, in the end, the game itself wasn't what interested me. Apparently, after the Cubs win a home game, they break out into one big sing-a-long in the stands.
And to be honest, the song all 40,000+ fans sang, "Go Cubs Go", was actually quite catchy. Here's an
audio version of the song. I also looked up some information about it online, and sure enough, it's "the official
Chicago Cubs victory song" -- especially this year.
So, after I turned off the television, I got to wondering... do my Milwaukee Brewers have a theme song? What am
I supposed to sing after every home game win?
With a little searching, I found it: "
Brewer Fever" -- the "fight song of the Milwaukee Brewers". This one too I found rather catchy, although why it's never returned to the mainstream after the 1982 pennant race, is beyond me. With the Crew making a run at the post-season, I think maybe we need to get it back out there. Afterall, why should the Cubs have all the sing-along fun?
Here's an audio version of the
Brewers anthem. Kinda catchy, no?
