"Floor Massage"Have you ever sat in one of those massaging arm chairs -- the kind that rumble softly, and vibrate rapidly? The kind that give you an almost full-body massage as you relax in body-numbing bliss? Now... have you ever felt your entire house do that?
As luck would have it, my apartment building is experiencing just such an event right now. Light fixtures are vibrating on the walls, a low hum fills the air, and I can feel the normally stable floor massaging my feet. It's an unusual experience to say the least.
Outside, and just behind my four-unit apartment building, there's a city lot that used to have an old house on it. Not too long ago, they tore that house down, and they seem to be replacing it with a small parking lot (for the commercial building next door). I went outside to track down the strange vibrations, and sure enough, there's a big steamroller flattening the lot. The energy it gives out... is vibrating the entire area.
