"Playoff Fever 2008: Minus 1"One game to go, and once again, the
Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets are tied for the Wild Card. The Cubs beat the Brewers, and the Marlins beat the Mets. In truly dramatic fashion, it all comes down to tomorrow afternoon. Either both teams will remain in a tie, thus forcing a tie-breaker game in New York on Monday, or, one team will go into the Playoffs, and the other will go home. Pretty exciting stuff! ... Here's where things stand at the end of today:
National League Wild Card:Team Name .... W - L ... GBMilwaukee Brewers ... 89 - 72 ... ---- ... (1 game left)
New York Mets ......... 89 - 72 ... ---- ... (1 game left)
If the Brewers win tomorrow afternoon, and the Mets lose, the Crew will find themselves in the Playoffs. If that happens, expect to hear much celebration in Milwaukee, because... twenty-six years is a long time to wait! Go Brewers!
