"Playoff Fever 2008: Minus 10"With only eleven (11) games left in the regular season, Major League baseball is packed full of excitement. It's down to the wire, and everyone wants a shot at the playoffs.
Naturally, my attention remains focused on the National League, where my hometown team, the
Milwaukee Brewers, are in a close race for the Wild Card, and fighting desperately to advance into the playoffs. This is where things stand at the end of the day:
National League Wild Card:Team Name .... W - L ... GBNew York Mets ......... 84 - 67 ... ---- ... (11 games left)
Milwaukee Brewers ... 84 - 68 ... 0.5 ... (10 games left)
Houston Astros ........ 80 - 71 ... 4.0 ... (11 games left)
Florida Marlins ......... 79 - 72 ... 5.0 ... (11 games left)
St. Louis Cardinals ... 78 - 73 ... 6.0 ... (11 games left)
AZ Diamondbacks .... 75 - 76 ... 9.0 ... (11 games left)
NL Central Division:Team Name .... W - L ... .pct ... GBChicago Cubs ...... 91 - 59 ... .607 ... ---- ... (11 games left)
MILW Brewers ..... 84 - 68 ... .553 ... 8.0 ... (11 games left)
Last year, Milwaukee lost out on the Wild Card early, but finished only two games behind the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central division. Historically, it's been 26 years since the Brewers went to the postseason... this would be a fitting year to change things. Go Brewers!
