"Playoff Fever 2008: Minus 8"Things are getting tense in the Playoff race. Only nine (9) games remain in the MLB regular season, and the
Milwaukee Brewers are stumbling a bit. They lost a mind-numbing 11-2 ballgame against the Reds tonight, and dropped by another half a game in the Wild Card race. Here's where things stand at the end of today:
National League Wild Card:Team Name .... W - L ... GBPhiladelphia Phillies .. 86 - 68 ... ---- ... (8 games left)
Milwaukee Brewers .... 84 - 70 ... 2.0 ... (8 games left)
Florida Marlins .......... 81 - 72 ... 4.5 ... (9 games left)
Houston Astros ......... 81 - 72 ... 4.5 ... (9 games left)
St. Louis Cardinals .... 80 - 73 ... 5.5 ... (9 games left)
NL Central Division:Team Name .... W - L ... .pct ... GBChicago Cubs ...... 92 - 60 ... .605 ... ---- ... (9 games left)
MILW Brewers ..... 84 - 70 ... .545 ... 9.0 ... (8 games left)
The naysayers are beginning to show pessimism at the Brewers lack of good fortune lately, but I still have hope. The Crew plays game two of a three game series in Cincinnati tomorrow afternoon. They have a day off on Monday, and then close out the season with a home-stand against the last place Pittsburgh Pirates, and the first place Cubs. The race is far from over. Let's just hope their fortune changes, and fast! Go Brewers!
