"Playoff Fever 2008: Minus 9"The excitement continues. Only ten (10) games remain in the MLB regular season, and still the battle rages on. My
Milwaukee Brewers lost a nail-biter to the Cubs today that went into the 12th inning. And while they drop a game in the Wild Card race, they're by no means out of the contest just yet. Here's where things stand at the end of today:
National League Wild Card:Team Name .... W - L ... GBNew York Mets ......... 85 - 67 ... ---- ... (10 games left)
Milwaukee Brewers ... 84 - 69 ... 1.5 ... (9 games left)
Florida Marlins ......... 80 - 72 ... 5.0 ... (10 games left)
Houston Astros ........ 80 - 72 ... 5.0 ... (10 games left)
St. Louis Cardinals ... 79 - 73 ... 6.0 ... (10 games left)
AZ Diamondbacks .... 76 - 76 ... 9.0 ... (10 games left)
NL Central Division:Team Name .... W - L ... .pct ... GBChicago Cubs ...... 92 - 59 ... .609 ... ---- ... (10 games left)
MILW Brewers ..... 84 - 69 ... .549 ... 9.0 ... (9 games left)
Starting tomorrow, the Brewers open a three-game visit in Cincinnati. The Reds
should be an easy team to beat, but, at this point, one never can tell. Here's hoping they take the series, so when they return home on Tuesday, they're still in the thick of things. This could very well be the most exciting finish to the season I can remember in years! Go Brewers!
