"A Summer Without 90"So far this year, the temperature in Milwaukee has not yet reached 90 degrees. Yes, here in West Allis (west of downtown}, we were in the mid-90's today, but that doesn't matter much, because the official record is set at the airport -- closer to the Lake. And the airport only reached 89.
For purposes of record-keeping, the National Weather Service considers Summer to be the months of June, July, and August. Since the high temperature at the airport only hit as high as 88 on July 15, 16, 30, and August 5th, summer has officially passed without a 90-degree day.
The last time the temperature didn’t hit 90 degrees in a Milwaukee summer was back in 2000. Before that, 1915. The odds of it still reaching 90 this year.... rather slim.
