"Cheerleader Trading Cards"

Hmm. I don't know what to think about this: In an effort to sell more trading cards, Topps has decided to include special edition cheerleader cards in their 2009 NFL football set. Each card shows an action photo of a Chiefs, Dolphins, Jaguars, or Ravens cheerleader on the field, and there are 15 hard-to-find cheerleader cards in total.

How Topps decided which teams and cheerleaders to feature, I have no idea. But, it does go to reinforce an age-old adage: Sex sells. And it shows too that apparently the present down economy has hit the trading card business rather hard as well.
