"Flight 1549 Reconstruction"

Here's something worth seeing. It's a 3D video reconstruction of US Airways Flight 1549 -- the plane that landed in the Hudson river on January 15, 2009. The recreation uses satellite imagery, elevation models, and GIS mapping methods to create a realistic vegetation model, terrain model and ground clutter. In other words, it's quite realistic. ... Of all the available audio tracks, only two are used in the video, La Guardia Tower and the New York TRACON Departure controller. Radar data as well as the onboard Flight Data Recorder were also used in reconstructing the plane's flightpath.

It's a fascinating look into a heroic event in recent history. Take a peek.
