Late last night, I did something I've never done before -- I submitted a design for a new Milwaukee Brewers game jersey. It's part of an
official design contest hosted by the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club (MLB). The object of the contest is for fans to submit original, creative designs for an alternate Brewers jersey and hat that will be worn by the players for a game during Spring Training 2013.
A Brewers' panel of judges will select the four most compelling jersey designs (from among all qualified submissions), and those top four designs will be put before a fan vote on the Milwaukee Brewers website. All four Finalists will win a trip to the Brewers annual On Deck FanFest in Milwaukee, WI on January 27, 2013. The top winning design -- determined by the judges and fan vote -- will be announced on the Main Stage during the events of that day.
The winning design will then appear as the uniform to be worn by all Milwaukee Brewers players for the Spring Training game on Friday, March 22, 2013 against the Chicago Cubs in Phoenix, Arizona. The person who created the winning uniform design will win an all-expenses-paid trip to see that game in person, a jersey and hat worn by one of the players during the game, and ten t-shirts and hats made from the winning jersey design. For any Brewers fan, it's a pretty big deal!
I put my creative mind to work, and tossed my own unique jersey design into the ring. The submission period ended yesterday. Now it's up to the panel of judges to determine whether they like my jersey or not. Do I make it into the top four design ideas, or do I get beat out by better submissions? We'll see.
You can take a look at
my Brewers jersey design on the Milwaukee Brewers website.
You can also compare it to other design submissions and pick your own personal favorites.
Feel free to leave comments on my design too; I'd love to hear what you think!
